Hey there! Thanks for dropping by my own little piece of the Country Legends 106.9 website. I’m Chris Fisher, host of the Late Afternoon Show, weekdays from 3-7 p.m. on Country Legends 106.9. I’m also the station’s Program Director. Prior to my current time slot, I hosted the morning show for almost six years with Lani Novak.
Working in radio is such a blast! I’ve been at KTPK since 2000, and can honestly say that I hope I retire from this place. Not only do I have one of the coolest gigs in the world, I work with a bunch of hard-working, radio-loving folks who make it even that much better.
Not only do I work with a bunch of great peeps, my most favorite thing about being in this business is because of you, our rockin’ awesome listeners. I tell my friends it’s like having a HUGE extended family, because you guys take such good care of me in all of my station endeavors. Every day I am truly humbled and amazed in the people that listen to this radio station. It makes me proud to be a small part of such an awesome extended family.
I grew up in a small town just west of Kansas City called Basehor. I graduated from Basehor-Linwood High School and went on to get my degree from Friends University in 2005. Go Falcons!
Like any parent, I think my kid is the cutest, smartest and all around best. Sorry, but I’m a little biased. Blake’s a chip off the ol’ block as they say. I’m told he looks and acts like his dad, which is a curse and blessing! He loves the outdoors, looking at himself in the mirror and he is constantly clowning around – these are just a few things that both of us have in common!
My work life is really exciting, so I keep my personal life really laid back. I’m not a big thrill seeker…I have no desire to go base-jumping, to run with the bulls, or go on an African Safari. I do enjoy playing golf, hunting, fishing, the outdoors and just hanging out with friends and family. Pretty boring, but I like it that way!
